Deep in the wildlands, Riley has lived by his grandmother’s two rules Don’t wander far. And alphas are dangerous creatures who are to be avoided. With rules like that, Riley was perfectly content to live out his days on his small homestead. But when a wildfire drives him from his home, leaving him lost and wandering, his only goal is to find a place to rebuild his life of solitude. But when he is rescued by the tall and handsome alpha wolf Jack, he is both wary and intrigued. Despite his long ingrained distrust of alphas, he can’t quite bring himself to fear his savior.
Jack’s life was going great. He had finally been given the honor of leading his pack’s hunts, and he was ready to stand by his brothers and help lead the Summerwood pack. So he’s not thrilled when raids by a band of rogue shifters puts the pack on lockdown. After a fight with his brother, he escapes the confines of his village, only wanting to get away for a little while. When he runs into a human omega with fiery red hair from the wildlands, he can’t stop himself from getting rather attached.

Okay, it isn’t amazing literature, but unlike a lot Mpreg stories I just started to read, I DO find it (so far) more tolerable than Kirk/Spock stories. (I still can’t see a pregnant Kirk whining and complaining on how REALLY tight his shirts were becoming and that his feet needed foot rubs all the time due to edema… Gah, just shoot me and put me out of my misery!...) And it serves to tell more than one story OTHER than just sexsexsexsex. Good. I liked that a lot.Now I’m going to be a picky copy editor right now. A person knowledgeable in 1950s’ grammar and such should have gone through this with a fine-tooth comb… See it? The idiom I just used? Are we dealing with a universe that could have come up with an idiom like that? Probably. What made me grimace is our world’s clichés and idioms sneaking in… until I was buried in them! That took away my ability to suspend my disbelief and at many points spoiled the story being told. Though a good writer will probably let several slip through, a good editor wouldn’t have.
The ending, some would say, would have been anticlimatical, but I am still a fan of “a day in the life” endings as long as I get enough information to answer more than a few questions.
Did this story make me want to check out the next book? Sure! At $0.99 for the first, I would and I did. It definitely was a novel (which I liked), I didn’t find myself with a dreadful cliffhanger, and I found out that Riley birthed… Whoops! I don’t like doing spoilers, so read another review that does ‘em.

Wildlands Omega M/M Mpreg Shifter Romance Summerwood Wolves Book 1 edition by Ruby Nox Romance eBooks Reviews
Fantastic Story. Loved the romance and characters
A story of of family and community. Shifter and Human, both somewhat lost but finding their way forward together. The ending a cliffhanger.
I absolutely love 💘this story i enjoy reading 📚this book Jack and Riley are good 👍 characters I will recommend this book my friends will love it
The story was entertaining, I loved the characters and the writing was good. Is quite cheesy and lovely, gives you some ideas too for next stories. My only problem was the "I have only known you for a couple hours and I'm already taking you for life"...
I picked this book because I love shifters and anything paranormal. The Characters are great in the series I really think that Jack and his mate are a really good fit the book itself is a great read I really hope there more to this series. I really think it can be fleshed out a whole lot with the rest of the packs in the area. I can't wait to see more from this writer .
Great start to a new series and author for me. I liked the writing style and characters. I think the author could do with some more editing but over all very enjoyable. Riley is likable and I was impressed by his strengths as well as his softer side. Jack took a bit longer to impress me. He's a bit immature and selfish. He does love Riley and wants to be the man he needs to be for their family.
Adult read
I love this story, it was cute and a great read. Riley is a human who has spent his time living along in the woods with his Grandma while she was alive. He has never had any contact with anyone else and never met anyone as well. But when a fire is heading towards his home in the woods he has no choice but to flee into the woods to get away from it all. There he runs into an alpha and gets saved by another Alpha named Jake. Jake has grown up with the SummerWood pack all his life and his father his alpha. He had a fight with his family when he stumbled upon Riley. Jake helps Riley understand what he is and take him back him has his mate. There they fear the alpha they killed will be after them. But this story is the start to the war of what happened at the end we meet Milo the Omega who was badly beaten by the alphas pack the killed and warns them of the danger that is coming.
The story has a happy ending and a cute ending as well and no cliff hangers. It does prepare for the second story nicely though. Can’t wait to see what the next story brings.
